About You:
To be considered for any of these positions, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant qualification or work experience in a similar position required.
- Ability to handle a busy section with multiple sittings per day (for section waitstaff).
- Show a continual desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Available to work days, evenings and weekends (8 at Trinity is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).
- Must be very well presented and well spoken, reliable and honest.
Tasks Include:
- Take reservations, greet customers and present them with menus and beverage lists.
- Set and arrange tables.
- Recommend dishes and wines to complement food (particularly in fine-dining establishments).
- Take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages.
- Open bottles and pour beverages including mixing liquor and assisting in the cellar.
- Clear tables, return dishes and cutlery to the kitchen, remove empty bottles and used glasses from tables, and refill and replace glasses.
- Collect payments for sales and operate point of sales machines and cash registers.
- Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies).
- Communicate and liaise with other front of house and kitchen staff to keep up to date on stock levels.
- Prepare food and beverage areas of the Restaurant for service.
- Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) legislation and requirements (RSA Certificate essential).
- Communicate any issues concerning service and escalate complaints to the Restaurant Manager leaving customers satisfied with the outcome.
- Perform other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Adopt continuous learning and improvement processes in all aspects of the position.
- Understand, implement, participate and promote Company Policies and Procedures, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) objectives, processes and procedures.
- Wine knowledge preferable but not essential.
- Must be able to carry 3 plates.
- Experience on computerised POS systems.
- Fluent English and well groomed.
